Malcolm X was the Greatest American because he gave his life for what he believed in. According to “Malcolm X” Student Resource Center Gold, Malcolm X was a very “outspoken 20th century African American Leader.” He felt strongly about the hatred of whites. Malcolm said “the white person acts like a devil.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed in equality for all people, Malcolm X did too. Malcolm just believed that the best way to get his point across was through violence. Malcolm was extremely passionate about the civil rights movement. He devoted his entire life to improving the way blacks were treated. Malcolm was assassinated on February 21st, 1965 by three men while he was giving a speech to “four hundred people in the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem.”The three assassinators were Talmadge Thayer, Norman 3X Butler, and Thomas 15X Johnson. That day in February, in 1965, we truly lost a great American leader.
